SECTION 1. THE ORGANIZER AND THE OFFICIAL REGULATION OF THE COMPETITION
The „SportGuru Timisoara 21k” Competition (hereinafter referred to as „The Competition”) is organized by the Yolo Events with the support of the Timișoara City Hall. The event aims at promoting movement (outdoor running) and a healthy lifestyle for a large segment of the population as well as the involvement of the local community in an action that promotes sport, movement, health and their benefits.
Participants in the Competition are required to comply with the terms and conditions of the Official Competition Rules (hereinafter referred to as the „Official Rules”). The Official Regulation is drawn up and will be made public in accordance with applicable law in Romania, being available free of charge to any applicant on the website www.timisoara.21k.ro. By participating in this Competition, participants agree to observe and comply with all the provisions, terms and conditions of this Official Regulation and applicable law.
SECTION 2. PERIOD AND AREA OF THE COMPETITION
2.1. Date and venue of the Competition:
The competition will take place on Sunday, March 9th 2025, beginning at 9:00, in Timisoara, having the start and the arrival in Unirii Square, according to the Competition mechanism, as detailed in Section 3 of this Regulation.
SECTIUNEA 3. MECHANISM OF COMPETITION
3.1. Participants and development of the Competition
This competition is equally addressed to children, young people and adults who will compete on routes established by the organizers according to the age and training of the participants.
Half-marathon races and 10,5 km Race can only be attended by people who have reached the age of 16 until the date of the competition.
ll participants must register for one of the races on the „Registration” page of the official site within the limit and up to the date detailed on the official site on the Registration conditions and Participation Fees. For these races, NO registrations are made in the day and venue of the competition.
The popular race can be attended by 13-17 year olds and major persons who have registered for this race on the „Registration” page of the official site within the limit and up to the detailed date on the official site on the Registration Conditions and participation fees page . Signing up for this trial can be done at sportexpo as well as at the venue of the competition only within the limits of the available positions and according to the program announced on the official website.
Children aged 6-12 can participate in children’s races. Registrations (by age category) are made on the „Registration” page of the official website within the limit and up to the date detailed on the official website. 3.1.1. RACES FOR ADULTS AND YOUNG PEOPLE
All adult races will take place on the Sunday of the event.
- Half marathon – Individual race 21,097 km
- 10,5 km Race – Individual race
- 3K Popular race – – children age 13 to 17 and adults without age limit
3.1.2. CHILDREN RACES
All children races (up to 12 years old) will take place on the Sunday of the race, having their start after the end of adult races. The race schedule will be announced on the official website.
Children’s races will take place on the following age categories, having separate starts:
– 6-7 years old children (girls, boys)
– 8-9 years old children (girls, boys)
– 10-12 years old children (girls, boys)
Children with the age between 13 and 17 will run in the adult race (3 km).
3.2. Distances and routes
3.2.1 ADULT RACES
- Halfmarathon – Individual race – 21,097 km
- 10K Race – Individual race – 10,5 km
- 3K Race
3.2.2 CHILDREN RACES
Children’s races by age and distance categories set out below, having separate starts:
– 6-7 years old children (girls, boys) – 600 m
– 8-9 years old children (girls, boys) – 600 m
– 10-12 years old children (girls, boys) – 1 km
– 13-17 year old children will run in the popular adult race (3km).
3.2.3 RACE COURSES
The race routes will be marked by the organizers through fences and delimitation bands and will be supervised by race commissioners (referees), police officers and gendarmes located at different points of the routes. The route description and map are available on the official website.
3.3. Registration
Registration of participants to all races can be made online at www.timisoara.21k.ro within the limit and up to the date on the official site on the Terms and Participation Contribution page.
For semi-marathon and 10.5km cross-country races, are considered valid registrations, only those who have filled out all the details in the online registration form and provide proof of payment within 3 working days of online registration.
Registrations that do not have all complete data are considered incomplete registrations and will be cancelled. Upon the pick-up of the participation kit, all participants will sign a statement on their sole responsibility in the presence of a representative of the organizer and a witness.
This statement will be printed after the online registration or will be completed before the kit is picked-up. Upon taking the contest number, adult participants in the 3 km popular race will sign a statement on their sole responsibility in the presence of a representative of the organizer.
Upon registration up and taking the contest number – participants under 18 at all races – will be accompanied by a parent who will fill in and sign the registration form by which he will agree on his / her sole responsibility that the child is medically fit for participation in the competition in the presence of a representative of the organizer and a witness.
Child registration and validation can also be done by the sports teacher or a school representative on the basis of a table filled in with the information of the children and signed by the school leadership by which it agrees on the participation of the children at the cross race.
In order to avoid crowding of the routes and to safely development of the competition, the number of participants will be limited. The number of positions available for each race is detailed on the competition website on the Registration Conditions and Participation Fees page.
3.4 Withdrawal from the competition
In case someone wants to withdraw from the competition, refunding the fee will not be possible. In these cases we encourage the finding of substitutes. See the case below.
3.4.1 CHANGES TO REGISTRATION
For semi-marathon and 10.5km cross-country races, modification of a registration (changing persons, moving from one race to another) is possible at least 14 days before the event date by a request sent to the official addresses on the contact page. Any change to the registration will be charged 30 ron.
3.5. Registration Fees
The participation fees for all races are detailed on the official website on the Registration Conditions and Participation Fees page.
3.5.1 PAYMENT METHODS
Payment of the registration fee is made via online payment, bank transfer details about this are available on the official website on the Registration Conditions and Participation Fees page.
3.6. Race Waivers
For semi-marathon and 10.5km cross-country races, upon picking-up the participation kit, all participants will sign a declaration by which they will agree on their sole responsibility that they are medically fit to participate in the competition in the presence of a representative of the organizer and of a witness. This statement will be printed after the online registration or will be completed before the kit is picked-up. For the popular race of 3 km – adults, upon picking-up the participation kit, the participants will sign a declaration by which they will agree on their sole responsibility that they are medically fit for participation in the competition in the presence of a representative of the organizer and a witness.
Participants under the age of 18 on any race – will be accompanied at the registration and taking the contest number by a parent that will complete and sign the application form by which it will give their sole responsibility that the child is medically fit for participation in the competition in the presence of a representative of the organizer and a witness.
Child registration and validation can also be done by the sports teacher or a school representative on the basis of a table filled in with the information of the children and signed by the school leadership by which it agrees on the participation of the children at the cross race.
3.7. Race equipment. Bib numbers
Participants (children and adults) will participate in the competition with their own equipment. The competition numbers will be made available by the organizers.
For semi-marathon and 10.5 km cross-country races, the competition numbers (on which the electronic timing chip will be mounted) will be given to the competitors upon picking-up the kits according to the schedule announced on the site in the days prior to the race.
It shall be ensured that the electronic timing chip (disposable) mounted on the contest number is NOT removed from it.
Time keeping will be provided by a specialized company. The time keeping system calculates the time of each runner, recording each passing of the chip over the electronic mats – on start, at the checkpoints on the route and on arrival.
WARNING! Runners who will not pass through all checkpoints will be disqualified automatically. It is the responsibility of the participants to wear the contest number on the front side of the t-shirt and not to damage the electronic chip.
For the 3km popular adult race and the races of the children, the contest numbers will be handed in according to the event schedule only after signing the declaration on their sole responsibility (for 3km-adults) and by the parents of the children participating in the race and after the payment of the participation fee.
Children’s race kits will be distributed according to the schedule announced on the official website in the „Pick-up participation kits schedule” section.
Any participant who does not have the contest number on the T-shirt or bears another contest number instead of the one assigned by the organizer will automatically be disqualified.
On the day of the competition, it will NOT be possible to change or replace the contest number – in the event of a loss, nor to change the contest numbers between the runners. These deviations lead to disqualification.
3.8. Start – Time Limit – Reopening Traffic
For the starting hours of each trial, please consult the official schedule page of the event on the official website.
The time limit for the semi-marathon race is 1 hour and a half for the first lap and 3 hours for the entire route. Participants arriving after this time limit will not be included in the race rank they participated in.
The 10.5 km individual race time limit is 1h and ½.
The 3km popular race time limit is ½ hr.
Competitors who exceed the time limits will be alerted by the referees and commissioners of the race and will have to head straight to the start / finish area. Warning: Continuing the race after exceeding the time limit is forbidden. After these time limits all roads will be reopened to traffic and the organizers will no longer guarantee the safety of the participants.
3.9. Results
For semi-marathon and 10.5km cross-country races, the „official ranking” will be established by electronic timing and will be available on the competition site within 24 hours after the races have been completed.
According to international regulations, the „official ranking” is based on the „official time” recorded for each runner. „Official time” is measured from the time of the official start until passing the finish line.
For the popular race and children’s races, only the first arrivals from each category awarded will be marked according to the Categories and awards page.
The age categories will take into account the age on December 31, ie the age that the participant will turn during the year regardless of whether it is before or after the event date.

SECTION 4. AWARDING PRIZES
4.1. Titles and prizes
The 1st, 2nd and 3rd places of each race and age category will be awarded. The prizes will be announced on the official website no later than one week before the event date.
Participation diplomas (for semi-marathon and 10.5 km cross-country races participants only) will be electronic and shall be available for download from the competition website within two days after the event. The official award ceremony will take place at the venue where the event in the start/finish area. For the exact time, please check the official schedule page of the event.
SECTION 5. ADMINISTRATIVE CONDITIONS
5.1. Refreshment points
According to the international regulations, one hydration point (plain water, isotonic beverage, fruits) will be placed every 5 km, so at about 5 km and in the start / finish area. Upon arrival all participants will receive plain water, isotonic beverage, apples, bananas, oranges, glucose. Participants are asked to throw plastic bottles and glasses in areas close to the hydration points in order to facilitate cleaning.
5.2. First Aid – Ambulance – Withdrawal
he event will benefit from specialized medical assistance contracted by the organizers. In the event of medical emergencies, referees and volunteers on the route will be trained to quickly contact medical services. Runners who have withdrawn from the race are asked to announce their withdrawal to the referees on the route or if they reach the Start / Arrival area, to the referees of this area.
5.3. Administrative conditions
The organization of the event lays with the Yolo Events, which is responsible for the implementation of the event and provides the necessary referees for the performance of the competition.
Eventual supporters of the participants (family members, friends) may remain in the vicinity of the route but outside the running route taking care not to damage the green areas.
Road traffic will be restricted during the entire race.
The event will benefit from the presence of :
– ambulance
– traffic and community police units, gendarmes
In accordance with the legislation in force, organizers are required to make public the names of the winners and the prizes awarded in this competition. The list of winners will be published in a maximum of 2 days after the event on the official site. The organizers also undertake to comply with the provisions of Law no. 677/2001 on the protection of personal data. As such, the Organizers are committed to maintaining the confidentiality of the personal data of the participants / winners of this Competition and to use them to use them in accordance with this Official Regulation, the statement of the participants on their sole responsibility and the legislation in force. The organizers reserve the right to amend this Regulation until the start of the competition with the obligation to announce the changes made on the site and at the venue of the competition.
5.4. Exceptional administrative conditions
In case of exceptional situations that do not depend on the organizer that prevents the event from happening (eg in force majeure, extreme weather conditions), the event can be postponed or even canceled.
In this case, the participation fees are not refundable, and the Organizer will in no way bear the adjacent costs (transportation, accommodation, meal, etc.) of the participants.
