It is also known as “Cathedral Square” due to the Roman Catholic Cathedral, a representative Baroque construction of the city and one of the most valuable in the Banat region. The open and tolerant spirit of Timișoara is best represented by this square.

- A fragment near Mărăști Square, which houses a commercial space.

Above the entrance are three life-sized statues: the apostles Peter and Paul, with Christ the Redeemer holding a cross in the center. The church boasts an impressive organ, crafted in 1901 by Carl Leopold Wegenstein, one of the most renowned organ builders in the Banat region.
Roses Park
Roses Park—one of the city’s symbols, contributing to Timișoara’s nickname as the “City of Roses.” This green oasis is known for its impressive collection of roses and other flowers. With its winding paths and well-maintained gardens, the park is an ideal spot for relaxing walks and moments of reflection. Its peaceful atmosphere and the inviting fragrance of the flowers make it a favorite retreat for both locals and visitors.
The people of Timișoara even celebrate a dedicated “Day of the Roses”, held every year on the last Thursday of May.
